‘My drawings show an intimate, frozen world with a touch of mystery. For me everything is animated: landscapes, buildings, objects. Magical and enigmatic. A sense of quiet anticipation runs through everything I make. It's fairly recent that I discovered why I draw the way that I do. In a world that can feel unfamiliar, I'm drawn to finding that one point of reference and recognition. At the same time, I create my own world, one filled with silence and stillness. The act of drawing has an incredible urgency to me. The subjects I draw evoke a certain emotion in me, in their solitude, atmosphere or wonder. My latest endeavor has been ceramics, sculpting quiet landscapes, slugs and other curious-looking animals like anteaters. This has been a very exciting new road to explore, since it is an extension of my drawings, bringing my distinctive universe from 2D into 3D..’
