A: ‘We met back in 2018 and hit it off instantly. While we both have our very own fascinations and fields of expertise, we complement each other. I’m a filmmaker and photographer, Marije is an image maker with a background in fashion design. I think those diverse, somewhat unconventional backgrounds merge well. Our collaboration is characterized by a fluid cross-pollination of analog and digital techniques and our ever-present sense of wonder.’
M: ‘I’ve always been drawn to working across several mediums, with different techniques and materials. My focus is photography and collage work, playing with context and perspective by adding, subtracting, and rearranging layers until this composition feels just right. That’s a very intuitive process. Archetypical, figurative themes such as nature, nudes, Greek sculptures, and flowers are often the starting point.’
